Role Summary
Workplace: Chuquicamata Division, Calama, with permanent execution of field activities in the Foundry Management.
Carry out visual emissions opacity measurements in stationary sources, in accordance with EPA-9 Method.
Carry out environmental observations in accordance with the procedures established by the competent authority.
Verify compliance with current environmental regulations during the execution of the measurements.
Register, validate and document the results obtained in the field.
Operate in accordance with the quality, safety and environmental standards required by Codelco.
Coordinate measurement activities with the Field Supervisor and Contract Administrator.
Prepare and maintain technical records associated with opacity measurements.
Promptly report any deviation, substandard condition or finding detected during the execution of the service.
Support the preparation of technical reports and the delivery of background information required by the contract.
Requirements
- We are looking to incorporate Environmental Inspector (Opacity Observer) to participate in the execution of the service.
- Professional title of Engineer or Higher Level Technician (Professional Institute at least).
- Environmental Inspector Qualification.
- Current accreditation under the United States Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 40, Part 60, for the performance of opacity measurements (EPA-9 Method).
- Knowledge of current environmental regulations applicable to atmospheric emissions measurements.
- Experience in carrying out opacity measurements in stationary sources.
- Ability to record, validate and report measurement results in accordance with established procedures.
- Availability to work in the Chuquicamata Division, with execution of activities in the field.
