Role Summary

What does your typical working day look like?

  • Analysis of market and customer requirements in the area of electrification of mobile devices
  • Development of concepts and preliminary designs for energy supply systems in interdisciplinary project teams
  • Examination of customer requirements with regard to technical feasibility
  • Creation of project-specific technical and commercial documents
  • Definition and description of electrical technical interfaces
  • Technical clarification with sub-suppliers, especially in the area of high-voltage products
  • Active support of international customers across all project phases, taking international standards into account (including IEC, DNV, ABS, UL)
  • Carrying out cost and market value analyzes for new products and customer-specific solutions
  • Support with customer acceptance and technical certifications

Responsibilities

Who will you work with?

You will be part of an interdisciplinary, international engineering team within Wabtec that specializes in the electrification of mobile applications - with a particular focus on high-voltage, high-performance applications and slip ring systems. In your role, you will work closely with internal project teams, subcontractors and international customers and support them throughout all project phases - from concept development to technical acceptance and certification.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Engineering / Electrification Solutions organization, you will play a key role in the development and evaluation of innovative energy supply systems for mobile applications. You analyze market and customer requirements, check their technical feasibility and translate them into well-thought-out technical concepts and project-specific solutions. You actively support international customers, work across departments with internal teams and ensure compliance with relevant international standards. Your contribution has a direct impact on the technical quality, marketability and economic success of new products and customer-specific solutions.

Requirements

What would we like to know about you?

  • Study of electrical engineering (e.g. electrical power engineering, high-voltage engineering)
  • or technical vocational training (electrical engineering/mechatronics) with further training to become a technician
  • Several years of professional experience in a technical environment
  • Experience in the design of electrical systems, particularly high-voltage and high-current applications
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Strong organizational skills and an independent, customer-oriented way of working
  • High reliability, team spirit and hands-on mentality
  • Resilience and willingness to travel at home and abroad
