Role Summary

The Site EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Specialist supports the daily operation and continuous improvement activities of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) programs at the site level.

  • Collaborate with base employees and cross-functional teams to promote best practices regarding safety and the environment

Support and review of site EHS activities such as waste treatment management, occupational safety, environmental and safety measures, etc.

  • Implementing an incident management program
  • Compilation and review of accident reports
  • Participating in Root Cause Analysis
  • Compilation and reporting of accident statistics
  • Safety management of partner companies (external contractors)
  • Management and operation of the Permit to Work system
  • Safety evaluation and management of partner companies
  • Safety education and guidance for partner companies
  • Participation in local and regional EHS projects
  • Planning and implementation support for EHS training for employees
  • External Requirements
  • Review, monitoring, and response support for EHS-related notifications, registrations, and permits necessary for site operations
  • Support for submission of various administrative reports
  • (e.g. PRTR, waste related reporting, reporting to labor authorities, etc.)
  • Planning and implementation support for various monitoring activities related to health and environment

Requirements

  • Academic background/expertise
  • Bachelor's degree or above (welcome)
  • Japanese communication skills (N1 level or above)
  • Communication ability in English (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Japanese EHS-related laws and regulations (desirable)
  • Health manager qualification (optional)
