Position Objective

P erforms echocardiograph i c procedures , using spec i al equ i pment , to measure , ca l culate , and report pert i nent patient data to facil i tate accurate diagnost i c outcome .

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties

  1. Conducts Echocardiograms as requested throughout the Medical Center, including all patient rooms and the emergency room .
  2. Explains procedure to patients, providing instructions and direct care to ensure accuracy and patient comfort.
  3. Assesses data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient requirement.
  4. Recognizes artifacts, eliminates probable sources and troubleshoots minor equipment problems.
  5. Consistently meets department standards for RVUs while maintaining quality work.
  6. Processes images acquired from different modalities according to established policies and procedures.
  7. Performs data entry as it relates to procedures, in PACS and Electronic Health Record
  8. Practices radiation safety and ensures that other staff and students are compliant.
  9. Obtains pertinent clinical data adequately as it relates to procedures performed.
  10. Analyzes, processes, and reports outcomes in a timely manner

Requirements

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduated from an accredited ultra sound program specializing in echocardiography
  • T w o y ears ' e xp erience p erfor m ing adult echocardiogra m s and s tress echocardiogra m s p
