Do you want to lead an industrial consulting and project operation with responsibility for business, people and technology in some of Sweden's most complex industrial environments?

AFRY is now looking for a Director & Head of Local Projects & Engineering Middle, a senior management role with responsibility for leading and further developing a larger part of our industrial project and engineering operations in Sweden. The business consists of approximately 1,800 employees nationally with a focus on industrial projects, deliveries and business. The role is part of the management team for Project & Engineering Sweden and reports to the Head of Project & Engineering Sweden.

Local Projects & Engineering Middle is part of AFRY's industrial operations and consists of approximately 180 employees in the towns of Karlstad, Åmål, Norrköping, Linköping and Örebro.

The business includes high technical competence in electricity, instruments, automation, plant design, mechanical engineering and project management. We work closely with customers in advanced investment, conversion and development projects in the manufacturing industry and process industry, with everything from feasibility studies and strategic advice to planning, CAPEX projects, technical specialist support and business development.

As Director & Head of Local Projects & Engineering Middle, you have overall responsibility for operations, business, results and leadership. You lead managers, project managers and specialists and develop the organization's market position, delivery capabilities and technical offering in close interaction with customers and internal key personnel.

You preferably start from one of the operations' larger offices in Karlstad or Norrköping and visit other operations and customers in the region continuously.

The role involves driving profitable growth, ensuring strong project and engineering deliveries and further developing a business with clear industrial roots. You strengthen AFRY's position with customers in the manufacturing industry and process industry and create the conditions for managers and employees to succeed in complex assignments.

Responsibilities

Your focus will be, among other things, to

• Lead and further develop a business with approximately 180 employees through experienced managers and leaders.
• Drive business, results and profitable growth in close dialogue with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop the business's offering, market position and technical delivery capabilities within industrial project and engineering assignments.
• Ensure quality, efficiency and strong execution power in complex customer assignments.
• Strengthen collaboration between locations, technology areas, business and other parts of AFRY's industrial operations.
• Actively contribute to the management team for Project & Engineering Sweden and to the strategic development of the business.
• Build a culture characterized by business acumen, responsibility, collaboration and technical professionalism.

Requirements

We are looking for you who is a confident, business-oriented and strategic leader with experience in creating results through others. You lead senior managers and specialists, build trust in complex organizations and translate strategy into clear direction and implementation.

You have a good understanding of industrial project and engineering activities and thrive where technology, business and customer value develop together. With clear and pragmatic leadership, you create commitment, build long-term relationships and drive development with both business acumen and human anchoring.

We believe you have the following experience and skills

• Solid leadership experience in our technical areas from industrial operations, technical consulting operations, project operations or a related field.
• Experience of leading through other managers, preferably in a geographically dispersed organization.
• Documented experience of business, performance and operational responsibility.
• Good understanding of complex industrial projects, technical deliveries and customer-oriented project and consulting business.
• Accustomed to working closely with customers, senior decision makers and in management teams.
• Ability to develop organization, leaders, offer and market position over time.
• B driving license and very good knowledge of Swedish and English.

Benefits

• The position is a permanent, full-time position.
• Placement takes place according to agreement at one of the locations where the business has an office, the preference is to start from Karlstad or Norrköping. Start takes place according to agreement. Last application date is 2026-10-02.
