Role Summary
We are looking for a trained and experienced Diesel Technician to join our team, specializing in the repair and maintenance of commercial buses. The Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing extensive repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently, safely and in compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the technician will provide support to customers both in person and through remote or virtual consultations, advising on necessary repairs or maintenance, ensuring equipment is operating to manufacturer specifications, and maintaining detailed documentation of services performed to support both in-shop and virtual interactions. Candidates must have a modern smartphone with an active internet connection to efficiently manage orders and assignments through the company app. Skills in using mobile apps, digital platforms, and app-based workflows to execute tasks and communicate are essential.
Compensation ranges from $52,000 to $93,600 per year, depending on experience and availability.
Job Specifics
Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on commercial buses, ensuring all systems are working properly.
Perform engine rebuilds, routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal bus performance.
Work with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, as well as perform brake repairs and other system-related problems.
Perform preventative maintenance to ensure buses are ready for safe and reliable operation.
Test bus performance and identify areas requiring repairs or replacement.
Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines while performing repairs.
Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed.
Ensure all repair and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance, specifically commercial buses.
- Solid knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Great attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.

- ASE certification in diesel mechanics or a related field.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Over 5 years of diesel engine repair experience, including experience with commercial bus systems.
- Strong diagnostic skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical problems.
- Experience in fleet management and working with a variety of commercial buses.
