Control Engineer at BEUMER Group in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, CT, Spain.
Responsibilities
As a Control Engineer, your main functions/tasks will be
- Development of low-level control engineering for baggage handling conveyor systems or parcel sorting systems, using TIA Portal and/or STEP7.
- Coordination of the scope of controls in the assigned projects.
- Lead the design of the control aspects of the assigned projects.
- Specify, develop and configure the integration of controls.
- Programming and commissioning of PLC-based installations.
- Preparation and review of documentation related to the project.
- Design validation, problem detection (testing) and resolution of incidents and open points that affect system programming and start-up.
- Help set up and maintain development, testing, and production environments.
- Collaboration on projects and with teams from other BEUMER Group delegations.
On-site support
- Manage reports of incidents on site, open points, etc.
- Create additional material specifications when necessary.
- Provide support to the installation team and plant commissioning teams when necessary.
- Process “as-built” documentation from the plant.
- Continuous improvement
- Transfer knowledge to other engineers.
- Initiate improvements in content, processes and tools.
- Incorporate lessons learned from the project into the company's product, processes and tools.
- Provide support to the head of the engineering department.
- Mentor new engineers.
Requirements
Desired skills and knowledge
As a Control Engineer at BEUMER Group, we are looking for a person with the following qualifications:
- Degree or Master in Control Engineering, Automation, Electronics or similar.
- More than 3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Ideally, have worked on integrated automation systems in manufacturing or distribution industries.
- Preferably, have worked in logistics systems or airport baggage handling environments.
- Experience in the design of controls for PLC-based systems.
- Solid knowledge of PLC programming Siemens STEP 7 and TIA Portal.
- Experience in HMI programming in (WinCC or TIA Portal).
- Knowledge of simulation/emulation software such as Experior and/or Demo3D is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Siemens automation products and communication protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, AS-i, TCP/IP, ISO, etc.
- Experience in interfaces with other components (SCADA, HOST, cameras, volumetrics, etc.).
- Reading/interpretation of electrical diagrams (EPLAN).
- Reading/interpreting AutoCAD plans.
- High level of English, and native/bilingual level of Spanish. German is a plus.
- Strong analytical capabilities and ability to apply logistics knowledge when analyzing and understanding client processes, creating conceptual solutions.
- Strong communication skills and creative approach to building professional relationships with clients.
- Ability to work in an international environment.
- Availability to travel locally or internationally.
- Leadership and ability to make decisions.
- Organized and methodical person.
- Driving license.
