Role Summary

As part of the development of its activities, Smiths Detection is recruiting a Contracting & Commercial Manager to join the SE&A Programs and Calls for Tenders team. This key position contributes to the commercial performance of projects while guaranteeing robust contractual governance and a high level of customer satisfaction.

Reporting to the SE&A Programs & Calls for Tenders Director, the Contracting & Commercial Manager will have the following main responsibilities:

Ensure the commercial and contractual management of calls for tenders and a portfolio of contracts.

Participate in contractual negotiations with customers, technology partners, suppliers and subcontractors.

Support program teams in identifying contractual risks and opportunities.

Define the commercial strategy for managing change requests and maintaining margins.

Ensure the application of contract management standards and processes defined by the Excellence Center Program (PEC).

Contribute to the optimization of business results throughout the execution of projects and programs.

Requirements

Profile sought

  • Higher education in commerce, law or project management, with a specialization or experience in commercial/contractual management.
  • Proven experience in contract management and negotiation in a complex environment, ideally project oriented.
  • Good understanding of contractual, financial and risk management issues.
  • Ability to work in a matrix and multicultural environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical skills, rigor and ability to manage priorities in a demanding context.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English and French language.
  • Availability for regular travel.
