Role Summary

Location: Remote

We are seeking a theologically trained writer to join a collaborative team developing a Christ-centered commentary on the Gospels and Acts. This project is written for the thoughtful, everyday Bible student who wants to go deeper—without requiring highly technical academic detail. The commentary should reflect careful exegesis and a clearly articulated Christ-centered hermeneutic. Our goal is to land between conversational pastoral commentaries and academic volumes—accessible, theologically rich, and intellectually serious. An ecumenical tone is imperative throughout, engaging interpretive differences with charity and avoiding unnecessary polemics.

Provide clear, structured commentary that includes

  1. Literary and historical context
  2. Explanation of key theological themes
  3. Engagement with major interpretive questions
  4. Selective interaction with the original languages where illuminating (without becoming technical)
  5. Articulate how each passage contributes to the revelation of Christ and the mission of the early church
  6. Write for serious lay readers—clear and accessible, but not simplified
  7. Address areas of theological disagreement with fairness, clarity, and ecumenical charity
  8. Revise material in response to editorial and peer review
  9. Ensure alignment with the organization’s doctrinal commitments
  10. Explicit Christ-centered and redemptive-historical connections
  11. Draw out thoughtful, textually grounded practical application for contemporary readers
  12. Write not merely to inform, but to form aiming at spiritual transformation, worship, and deeper trust in Christ
