Description

As a concrete technologist you are responsible for developing, testing, optimizing and monitoring sustainable concrete compositions on the site in Kinrooi (Schelfhout). You contribute to the implementation of innovative concrete recipes within CRH Schelfhout. You test new concrete recipes with concrete laboratory and practical tests.

In addition, you are responsible for the quality on site, from raw material to finished product and on to the construction site. You intervene where necessary and ensure structural improvements.

You therefore combine in-depth knowledge of concrete with practical and hands-on monitoring of quality and production.

Responsibilities

  • Concrete technology & lab
  • Carrying out and following up on practical and laboratory tests with the aim of developing and optimizing innovative concrete mixtures.
  • Reporting test results (graphs, statistics and dashboards) that provide insight into performance and areas for improvement.
  • Formulate substantiated advice based on test results for mixture optimization and innovative applications, with a focus on quality, sustainability and efficiency.
  • Follow up on test productions, evaluate the results and propose improvement actions.
  • Actively contributes to increasing quality awareness in the workplace and supports the implementation of sustainable innovations.
  • Supports ongoing production with technical questions and deviations
  • Occasionally participate in consultation moments with colleagues from other sites to exchange knowledge and best practices.
  • In line with CRH SCB's safety and environmental policy and applies the Plan-Do-Check-Adjust (PDCA) principle in daily operations.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field (chemistry, construction, materials science) or equivalent through experience.
  • Experience in concrete technology (level 1 required, level 2 is a plus).
  • Experience in a production environment and with laboratory work and concrete testing is an asset.
  • Affinity with sustainability, circular economy and innovative materials.
  • Knowledge of computer applications: Office 365, possibly Priamos
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001).
  • Dutch-speaking, knowledge of French/English is an extra
