Role Summary

As a Clinical Nurse, you and the medical team (doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals) carry out complex and innovative early-phase clinical studies, in which experimental medicines are tested, often for the first time, in healthy volunteers and patients. In addition, every study is different and that makes it extremely interesting! You not only research a wide variety of medicines. You generate the data for these studies through a wide range of paramedical activities and you monitor the volunteers closely. You mainly focus on the technical aspects of being a nurse. The care aspect (including the physical burden) is clearly less present in this position.

Study-related activities

The paramedical tasks are very diverse and differ depending on the phase of a clinical study.

General nursing tasks include taking blood, measuring blood pressure, determining BMI, drug testing on urine samples, ECG, ... but also specific tests such as spirometry and determining bleeding time are discussed.

during selection examinations of volunteers: medical screening.

during the volunteers' return visits: outpatient interim follow-ups.

during the stay of volunteers for clinical research: continuous monitoring.

Your schedule is based on your availability. Do you prefer to work in the morning or an evening shift? Or does the weekend suit you better? No problem, we take your personal preference into account!
