Role Summary
We are looking for a Chief Automation Engineer (m/f/d) for our location in Düsseldorf as soon as possible:
This is what we have to do
System architecture: Developing the architecture of our automation systems in the area of automated horizontal transport, taking into account relevant standards and guidelines such as the Machinery Directive or the Machinery Ordinance.
Automation strategy: Further developing our systems and applications in the areas of PLC programs, drives, networks and visualizations.
Adapting the specifications for creating circuit diagrams, taking into account changing standards and guidelines, especially functional safety, such as ISO 12100, ISO 13849-1/2 and DIN EN 62061.
Validation and safety: Development and implementation of test and simulation concepts for testing and validating standard and safety functions, as well as their documentation for quality assurance during testing, commissioning and acceptance activities. Support with risk and danger analyses.
Technical standards: Creation of system, interface and functional descriptions, functional specifications and specifications, as well as internal software documentation; In addition, further development of technical standards, methods and processes in the area of automation and functional safety.
Project and interface management: Technical management of acceptance tests, factory and on-site commissioning at home and abroad, support of system tests on customer systems as well as technical management of internal and external development partners, suppliers and project participants. Technical support of projects from acquisition to productive operation.
Requirements

Education: Completed studies in electrical engineering with a focus on automation technology or completed vocational training as an electronics technician with further training to become a state-certified technician in the field of automation technology; Additional qualification as a Functional Safety Engineer or Functional Safety Professional is an advantage.
Personality: Strong ability to work in a team and strong communication skills in German and English, combined with a systematic, structured and independent way of working as well as the willingness to take business trips at home and abroad for up to 30% of working hours and to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Experience: Comprehensive experience in the field of automation, ideally in crane and vehicle technology, for example FFT, as well as in the associated safety technology; also experience with agile working methods.
- Expertise: High technical understanding in the area of programmable logic controllers, fieldbus systems, sensor and drive technology, battery technologies as well as in-depth knowledge of the current state of the art in machine safety.
- IT competence: Confident use of MS Office 365 including Visio, Teamcenter, SAP as well as ticket systems such as Jira® from Atlassian and Confluence™.
