The Buyer II at Jabil is responsible for executing purchasing activities to support manufacturing operations, ensuring continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and on‑time delivery. This role manages assigned commodities or suppliers, executes purchase orders, resolves supply issues, and supports sourcing and cost‑reduction initiatives in a fast‑paced electronics manufacturing environment.

Buyer II operates with moderate autonomy and supports cross‑functional teams including planning, engineering, quality, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Execute purchasing activities for assigned materials, components, or commodities to meet production, inventory, and customer requirements
  • Create, review, and manage purchase orders in accordance with MRP signals, contracts, and Jabil policies
  • Communicate with suppliers on delivery schedules, shortages, price discrepancies, and quality issues
  • Monitor supplier performance (OTD, responsiveness, quoting accuracy) and escalate risks as required
  • Support sourcing initiatives including RFQs, cost analysis, and supplier comparisons
  • Participate in cost‑reduction, VAVE, and supply‑base optimization initiatives
  • Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP/MRP systems (typically SAP/Oracle‑based systems)
  • Work closely with planners to resolve material shortages and prevent line‑down situations
  • Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and compliance with Jabil's ethical and regulatory standards
  • Ensure compliance with Jabil procedures, SOX controls, and customer requirements
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects and supply chain KPIs
  • May provide day‑to‑day guidance to Buyer I or Junior Buyers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Typically 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or materials management
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing / EMS environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of purchasing, logistics, and inventory concepts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing electronic components (PCBA, mechanicals, cables, packaging, etc.)
  • International sourcing or global supplier exposure
  • Experience supporting cost‑reduction and supplier negotiations

About the Company

How will you make an impact?

The Quality Supervisor for DHR and Inspection is under the direction of the QA Manager. They will continue maintaining high quality standards of the product inspection and final release process and compliance with regulatory requirements, administer Quality Assurance support to Quality Operations of a complex site and/or demanding compliance profile, and directly supervise Quality inspectors, and Final Release (DHR) employees. Works with Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers for day to day activities supporting all Production Cells and Supplier quality (Operating Companies) at the site has adequate quality support, documentation review, and support projects, process and new product introductions or upgrading of existing processes and products and subsequent qualifications.
