Backend / Full Stack Developer (m/w/d)

Role Summary

We are SOFI AI, building an AI platform for a highly regulated market without our customers having to sacrifice confidentiality or data sovereignty. It is precisely this combination of strong AI and uncompromising data security that makes our work technically demanding and exciting.

We are a small team with short distances, real responsibility and a product whose effect you can see directly.

What you should bring with you

• Several years of experience in backend development, ideally with Python and/or TypeScript
• Security in the design and operation of REST APIs
• Experience with databases and a feel for testable and maintainable code
• Experience in the front end, for example with React, is an advantage if you want to take on full-stack tasks
• Interest or initial experience in integrating language models and building agentic systems
• Openness to AI-supported development workflows
• A keen awareness of data protection and data security, because we work with highly sensitive data
• An independent, structured way of working and enjoyment of working in a small team
• Very good knowledge of German and English

Responsibilities

Together with our existing development team, you will continue to advance the SOFI AI platform. Your focus will be on the backend; depending on your strengths, you will also take on full-stack tasks. What awaits you:

• You develop and operate our backend services and APIs
• You build and optimize our AI harnesses, i.e. the orchestration around language models with tool calling, agent processes and Eval frameworks
• You refactor existing components and get more performance
• You analyze and fix errors and keep code quality high
• You connect external data sources and interfaces
• Depending on your profile, you will also work on the front end and support features from the API to the UI
• You are there from the idea to productive operation
