Role Summary

Do you have an eye for detail and a heart for food safety? Do you want to build relationships and dare to be critical at the same time? Do you have experience in a quality-related position in the food sector and do you want to work as an auditor? Or do you already have experience as an auditor? Then we are looking for you!

SGS Business Assurance carries out audits and certifications for various standards regarding quality, (food) safety and the environment. Consider the most well-known ISO standards such as ISO 9001 (quality standard), ISO 14001 (environmental standard), VCA, ISO27001 and food safety standards such as BRCGS, IFS and ISO/FSSC22000.

As a food auditor you work from home and are deployed nationally, a very independent and free role. Together with your 14 Auditor Food colleagues, you carry out audits at various companies related to the food industry (transport, logistics, storage, trade, catering, etc.) and in various branches in the food industry (meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, fruit, dry raw materials, dairy, ready-made meals, drinks, bakeries, confectionery, snacks and cereals, oils and fats).

In summary, you are involved in

  • Assessing whether an organization's quality system meets current standards, the most requested standards for food with us are: BRCGS, IFS and FSSC22000;
  • Carrying out audits including preliminary investigations and any follow-up visits;
  • Provide oral explanation of the findings immediately after conducting the audit;
  • Writing reports of the audits carried out;
  • Stay informed of developments regarding food standards;

Exchange knowledge and practical experience with your Food Auditors colleagues.

Requirements

We are mainly looking for auditors with an open mind and a positive critical view. In order to audit properly, we also ask the following:

  • At least a completed HBO or WO education in Food Technology, Food Technology, Food Quality Management, Food Safety or similar.
  • At least 4 years of work experience in a quality-related position within the food sector, for example direction; Quality Assurance, Quality Control or as a (legal) supervisor/inspector.
  • Knowledge of microbiologically sensitive products, for example meat, chicken, fish, dairy or ready-made meals.
  • Experience with food schemes such as BRCGS, IFS and ISO/FSSC 22000 is an advantage.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language.
  • Willing to travel to customers throughout the Netherlands.
