Role Summary
Reporting to the team leader of directors, the associate director or account director is responsible for managing customer accounts; business development, advisory and strategic role with clients. This person can assume the tasks of account manager or project manager depending on the scope of the project and may require the support of a senior director in certain tasks.
Responsibilities
- Sales and Business Development
- Responsible for managing customer accounts
- Gain a good understanding of the client's objectives and develop an educational strategy
- Know the Canadian regulations relating to the accreditation of programs intended for health professionals as well as ethical standards
Collaborate with physician organizations, universities, and medical associations, and ensure compliance with educational standards/guidelines for ethical health care
- Identify new sales and loyalty opportunities with existing and new customers
- Position the less good news and always be in solution mode
- Delegate responsibilities strategically to project managers and internal teams
- Assume a leadership and mentoring role with project and account managers

Develop estimates/pitch submissions with minimal or no participation from Unik owners, and provide strategic advice to Unik owners to maximize profitability without compromising quality

- Supervise the project to ensure that the client's objectives are met
- Ensure the scientific brief with the various stakeholders (medical editors, scientific committee, etc.) according to the client's strategy
- Attend customer calls according to schedule
- Revise communications as needed
- Revise scientific content before sending to faculty or client
- Review chair briefs and accreditation submissions
- Control
- Enter your hours in Forecast to optimize project management and reconciliation
- Review proposed budget changes and final approval of reconciliations before invoicing
- Ensure quality control of all deliverables
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate university degree, preferably in science, education or communications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in similar functions including 3 years as an account manager
- Bilingual French and English, oral and written
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and the medical education environment in Canada
- Mastery of IT tools – Office Suite
- Organizational skills and excellent communication skills
- Strategic approach, leadership and management of difficult situations
