Responsibilities

• WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
• We are looking for a Specialist level AI Engineer to work on the design, development and evolution of Agentic Commerce solutions, applying Generative Artificial Intelligence to digital payments, automation of financial flows and intelligent commerce experiences.

This position will play a relevant role in building autonomous agents capable of understanding intentions, making decisions and executing transactions in a secure, observable and scalable way. The person will work on the integration between LLMs, payment systems, gateways, APIs and communication protocols between agents, collaborating with Product, Architecture, Security, Compliance and Engineering teams.

• Design, develop and evolve intelligent agents based on LLMs, capable of executing complex commerce and payment journeys with security, autonomy and scalability.
• Build Agentic Commerce solutions for automating purchases, payments, consultations, reconciliations and other financial flows.
• Develop decision flows, planning, memory, reasoning, execution and exception handling.
• Integrate agents with REST APIs, payment gateways, e-commerce platforms, microservices and financial systems.
• Implement authentication, authorization, tokenization, credential management and data protection mechanisms in payment integrations.
• Evaluate and implement interoperability protocols between agents and systems, such as Model Context Protocol — MCP, Agent-to-Agent — A2A and protocols related to payments made by agents.
• Build RAG solutions to provide trusted context to agents and reduce incorrect responses.
• Implement end-to-end observability mechanisms, including logs, metrics, tracing, quality assessment, cost monitoring and error control.
• Create automated tests and evaluation criteria for agent behavior, security, accuracy, and performance.
• Write and review clean, resilient, scalable, and testable Python code.
• Act as a technical reference, supporting other engineers, promoting good practices and contributing to architectural decisions and technological evolution.
• Work together with Product, Architecture, Security, Risk and Compliance to transform business needs into viable technical solutions.

Requirements

Mandatory requirements

• Solid experience in software development using Python.
• Experience in payment methods, acquiring, gateways, e-commerce, digital transactions or financial services projects.
• Knowledge of the main components of a payment transaction, such as authorization, capture, cancellation, chargeback, reconciliation and fraud prevention.
• Practical experience with Generative Artificial Intelligence, LLMs and development of agent-based solutions.
• Knowledge of orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph.
• Mastery of systems integration through REST APIs.
• Knowledge of building MCP servers.
• Experience with microservices and distributed architectures.
• Experience with automated testing, code quality, design patterns, and software engineering practices.
• Knowledge of security applied to APIs and payments, including authentication, authorization, tokenization and protection of sensitive information.
• Experience with logging, tracing, metrics and monitoring of distributed applications.
• Ability to work with complex, ambiguous and poorly structured problems.
• Systemic thinking, architectural vision, autonomy and technical protagonism.
• Clear communication and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary environments.

Desirable requirements

• Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, or equivalent cloud AI services.
• Working knowledge of MCP, A2A and payment protocols for agents such as AP2, ACP or verifiable intent mechanisms.
• Knowledge of RAG, vector banks, embeddings, recovery strategies and context management.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging and asynchronous processing.
• Knowledge of Node.js or other languages used in microservices environments.
• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with automated agent assessment, guardrails, prompt injection prevention and security of applications based on LLMs.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS, LGPD, Open Finance or other regulatory requirements related to payments and financial services.
• Experience digital identity or card tokenization.
• Advanced English for interacting with suppliers, technical documentation and global teams.
