AI Engineer

Role Summary

You will join a multidisciplinary team where data engineering, architecture, AI, analytics, governance and visualization come together. Together we help customers get more value from their data: from establishing the right data foundations to building dashboards, analytics solutions and AI use cases that support better decisions.

As an AI Engineer you contribute to this by designing, building and industrializing AI solutions that solve concrete business problems and can be used in real operational environments.

You bring traditional AI and generative AI to concrete real-world applications by helping our customers design, build and deploy AI solutions. You will work on solutions ranging from machine learning models and NLP to LLMs, semantic search, RAG solutions and conversational AI.

You train, fine-tune, improve and deploy ML and AI models. You write production-ready Python code for online, batch and real-time models, and you build applications and software components that make AI-driven use cases usable in practice.

You work closely with Data Scientists, MLOps Engineers, Data Engineers, AI Architects and other specialists to integrate all parts of the solution. Depending on the project, you will help build new AI solutions from scratch, or support customers in managing and improving existing solutions in the medium to long term.

Requirements

We are looking for an AI Engineer who combines strong AI knowledge with solid software engineering skills. You can go beyond experimentation and help transform AI use cases into reliable, maintainable and production-ready solutions.

You have knowledge and experience in the following

• At least 3 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist, MLOps Engineer or in a similar position
• Experience with traditional NLP, LLMs and conversational AI, both in the experimental phase and in production
• Experience with vector databases for semantic search and RAG solutions in a production environment
• Strong software engineering background and ability to write production-ready code in Python
• Experience with experiment tracking, model monitoring, LLM and NLP evaluation techniques and deployment strategies
• Familiar with the machine learning lifecycle and MLOps and DevOps principles
• Experience with at least one cloud provider and good knowledge of the data ecosystem
• Able to coach others, provide technical advice and direction, and work independently
• Master or PhD in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Fluent in English. You also speak fluent Dutch and/or French
