Residential Real Estate | 4 Days Per Week

Are you an experienced accountant or bookkeeper who understands the world of real estate?

We are looking for an experienced

Accountant / Bookkeeper

to join a growing residential real estate business on Sydney's North Shore.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the numbers and wants to be an important part of a growing business.

Working closely with the Director and management team, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring everything is accurate, organised and running smoothly.

This is more than a traditional bookkeeping position.

The business is growing and we are looking for someone who can help strengthen the financial systems of the business, provide greater visibility around performance and become a trusted part of the management team.

4 days per week with flexibility for the right person.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for

  • End-to-end bookkeeping and financial administration
  • Management of trust accounting and trust compliance
  • Trust, bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Fortnightly payroll processing, superannuation and PAYG obligations
  • Processing and recording sales commissions
  • BAS preparation and liaison with external accountants
  • Monthly financial reporting, including Profit and Loss statements
  • Cash flow monitoring and forecasting
  • Budgeting support and financial planning
  • Supplier payments and expense management
  • Preparation of year-end financial information
  • Maintaining financial controls, compliance and accurate records
  • Identifying process improvements and efficiencies

You will have strong experience in

  • Residential real estate accounting or bookkeeping
  • Trust accounting
  • Payroll
  • Xero
  • Reconciliations
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Real estate commissions and transactions
  • You will be highly organised, accurate and commercially minded.
  • You will be someone who takes ownership, notices when something isn't right and doesn't wait to be asked to fix it.
  • You will also need to be comfortable working independently and communicating financial information clearly to the Director and management team.
