Accountant (all genders)

Role Summary

As an accountant (all genders) we are looking for a versatile and committed personality with a very good eye for detail. Become part of our open and warm 10-person accounting team at Sunday Natural and work closely with our Head of Accounting. As our accounting team grows, this is a senior role for someone who will take real responsibility for the day-to-day work of the team and act as an experienced point of contact for the team.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for and maintain general accounting and control automatically generated outgoing invoices in our ERP system Odoo
• You will take the lead in preparing the monthly financial statements, support the annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) and ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, active deferred items and provisions are carried out correctly, independently and on time
• You are responsible for preparing advance VAT returns and coordinating with external tax advisors and tax authorities
• You create and reconcile intercompany invoices and payments, thereby ensuring proper intercompany accounting
• You provide support with IFRS-relevant reporting topics and contribute your expertise to the further development of our group consolidation
• You are the first point of contact for the accounting team for technical questions and carry out regular content checks of the bookings prepared by the team and actively work with cross-functional teams

Requirements

• You have training, ideally in accounting, as a tax clerk or have completed a commercial degree, as well as at least 5 years of professional experience in accounting/finance
• You have in-depth knowledge of commercial accounting (HGB) as well as experience with IFRS and solid user knowledge of Excel and ERP systems
• You work in a structured, careful and proactive manner and can integrate well into an existing team
• You are very interested in the digitization and automation of our finance processes
• Ideally, you have experience in dealing with international tax issues (e.g. UK, Poland, Switzerland, Czech Republic), previous experience in a D2C business is also an advantage
• You thrive in a dynamic scale-up environment and are motivated by the challenges of a growing, internationally oriented company
• You have German language skills at C2 level, as well as business fluent English skills (C1) and are based in Berlin or the surrounding area
