Role Summary
Workplace: Antofagasta Region, with field activities in the Plant, Mine and Salar de Ascotán areas.
Carry out environmental sampling, measurement, inspection and verification activities on the ground.
Carry out sampling of surface water, groundwater, sewage, drinking water, air and other environmental matrices as appropriate.
Operate environmental monitoring and measurement equipment, ensuring its correct use and operation.
Apply sampling, preservation, storage and transportation procedures of samples in accordance with established technical requirements.
Maintain the chain of custody and traceability of the samples from their collection to their delivery to the laboratory.
Record terrain information, measurement results and background information necessary for the preparation of reports.
Verify compliance with technical, environmental and safety procedures during the execution of activities.
Timely report deviations, contingencies or findings detected in the field.
Protect the correct condition of equipment, instruments, materials and supplies used in monitoring.
Support compliance with the environmental monitoring program and operational requirements associated with the service.
Requirements
- We seek to incorporate an Environmental Sampler for the execution of environmental monitoring activities in the field.
- Higher level technician in Chemistry, Environment or related field.
- Minimum experience of 5 years in environmental monitoring and sampling activities.
- Advanced knowledge in environmental sampling techniques.
- Experience in measurements and monitoring of environmental components in the field.
- Knowledge of environmental, safety and occupational health procedures.
- Ability to execute environmental sampling, measurement, inspection and verification activities.
- Class B driver's license with at least 1 year old.
- Availability to work in the field and travel to different monitoring points.
- Ability to work as a team and comply with technical and operational procedures.
- Proactive, responsible, punctual person with a focus on safe work.
